Aus Masters @ West Lakes (SA) 1 – 4 May 2014

In late breaking news, and in the neverending quest for grail-shaped bling (or wine – hey, this is masters season), RRC will be supporting the 2014 Australian Masters Rowing Championships, to be held at the West Lakes course ( close to Adelaide) with a keen group of masters tigers.  Are you in the hunt?

Full details of the regatta can be found at

Our faithful Captain/Coach/Defender of the Faith/ etc (Barry) plans to be towing the club trailer, so it will be club boats and equipment primarily in use, not begged/borrowed/otherwise obtained stuff with rudders that might not work quite right.

Entries close Monday 14 April, but don’t wait if you want to be involved.  You’re going to need to work out:

  1. crews (incl. mixed and/or composite)
  2. boats & oars
  3. coxes / how to row coxless / (how to row??)
  4. AND NOT FORGETTING travel and accommodation

On that front, some members are well ahead in their plans and have gone online to arrange their own accommodation close by.

For now, if all this sounds like you, please get in touch with your coach or else me right away.  We’ll need to find out ASAP who else wants to go and then see what can be done about crews.
