Trivia Night tickets on sale – 24 March 2018

Following our recent club events (Xmas BBQ and NYE) our fundraising total for the year is currently above $7,000. Thanks to your great work, we are well on our way to our goal for the purchase of a new shiny boat! Look out for upcoming communications on additions to the fleet.
With that in mind, the annual RRC trivia night is only a month away, starting at 7pm Sat 24th of March. The theme for this year’s quiz will be Arabian Nights – so get your Aladdin suits ready, hop on your magic carpet and get ready for an amazing night!
Tickets are strictly limited to 100, so get in early through Trybooking. Prices are $25 per person or $225 for a table of 10.
The one and only Justin Thomas will be writing the quiz questions from the other side of the world with help from Aline Dejaegher, Simon Crunden is back to MC the evening and Derek Begg will be on hand as our auctioneer for the night.
Don’t forget, as one of our major fundraising events we are looking for auction items, the more unusual the better. You can donate your time, your one off skill, that vintage zootie or the dozen bottles of wine you have been saving. Contact [email protected] with any items you can donate.
It’s always a great night and you can bring along your friends, colleagues and family to enjoy each other’s company at the club. The event is BYO food, with drinks at bar prices. Prizes for winning team and best dressed, and don’t forget to decorate your table!

Girl Power – Tough racing in challenging conditions at Victorian State Championships

With a team of 46 including rowers, coxes and coaches descending on Lake Wendouree the Richmond tigers were represented strongly in both numbers and presence at last weekends Victorian State Championships. With a final tally of 7 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 3 bronze) RRC had a very successful days racing and here’s a few of the highlights.
The female C8+ was represented with two crews from Richmond, both a C and D crew. Ballarat was living up to its reputation, with strong winds and an overcast, cold morning, leaving the girls shivering as they prepared to get on the water. Regardless of the temperature, everyone involved went into the straight final with fire in their bellies. RRC Quiz Night 15th March

This is just to let you know that the next fundraising quiz will be the evening of 15th of March, as this is the “Ides of March” we will be having a Roman theme.
Participation in Fundraising is an expectation of membership.  Without past fundraising we would have no equipment now, without fundraising now we will have no equipment in the future.  It is that simple. Continue reading “RRC Quiz Night 15th March”

Presentation night – 25 May – cancelled

Due to very low ticket sales for the clubs annual presentation night this coming Saturday, 25 May, the committee has had to cancel the event. Minimum numbers were not reached and therefore costs were becoming prohibitive.
Consequently club awards will be announced and presented at the club AGM on 27 July.
The committee apologies to all those that did sign up to attend. The Treasurer will reimburse all those that purchased a ticket.
For all those still interested in getting together on Saturday to have a drink/bite to eat and swap season stories, an alternative more casual option is currently being investigated. Details will be circulated shortly.
Thanks
Emma
