I am very pleased to be able to share with you the 2014/15 season calendar for RRC. I encourage you all to use this as a guide to help plan the upcoming rowing year and mark those all important dates in your diaries.
I can not promise there won’t be any alterations/ammendments over the course of 11 months but the committee has worked hard to try to lock in the important dates so you all have a good knowledge of what we have to look forward to this year. With the number of active rowers we are seeing at training currently I am feeling very confident that we will have a great year.
Can I just remind/advise you all to check the events listings on the website and the online, interactive club calendar throughout the year which does include more details regarding events and will be kept updated.
Also if anyone has ideas about more events rowing, social or fundraising or would like to offer themselves as a volunteer to organise or help co-ordinate any of these events please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated .
So download the calendar now and stick it on your wall.

Save the Date – Sunday Oct 5th!
As you will have all hopefully seen the boathouse redevelopment is moving at pace now (even despite the weather this week). There is still lots to do and a big thank you to everyone who has helped get us this far.
We still need more funds to purchase the racking for this new area and it is not too late for you to donate using this ASF form to make a tax deductible donation. Click through now, complete the form and email or send it to Anthea, our Secretary, [email protected]. Every bit you can donate will help us towards our target $20,000.
We have now fixed a date to celebrate and officially hold “The Grand Opening” of the new boathouse and it is Sunday 5th October, so make sure you save the date! You will notice it is in our online calendar along with a draft of upcoming events for the new season.
I am currently recruiting volunteers to help be involved in organising the event. Could I ask anyone who would like to offer their ideas and help to promote, organise and make this event the huge celebration it deserves to contact me, [email protected] and we can start the planning.

It’s time to celebrate the season that was 2013-14.
It has been an amazing year at RRC with so much activity and progress both on and off the water. Remember way back at the start of the season we celebrated with our 150th gala dinner, then came the excitement and unrelenting training for Melbourne Head and HOTY and our Christmas hoe-down where we were serenaded with carols. Then the anticipation of a new year with the building work kicking off and club trips to Rutherglen, Tasmania, Ballarat and Geelong. Relive the memories from 7.30pm on Saturday 31st May at the Kingston Hotel in Richmond. We will congratulate the winners and offer thanks to all our coaches, coxes and volunteers. If you have photos, film clips or memories you want included in our season wrap up please let me know by contacting me at [email protected] Continue reading “Buy your tickets now for Presentation night 2014!”

Australian Henley Picnic – Saturday 22nd Feb
The Australian Henley Regatta has been conducted by the Melbourne Amateur Regatta Association on the Yarra since 1904. Their aim was to conduct a regatta on the same line as the world-renowned Henley Royal Regatta.
Next Saturday 22nd February, marks this year’s event and some of our very own Richmond rowers will be competing. To celebrate the event and to enjoy the spirit of rowing in the city of Melbourne RRC will be gathering on the banks of the Yarra for a picnic.

RRC Quiz Night 15th March
This is just to let you know that the next fundraising quiz will be the evening of 15th of March, as this is the “Ides of March” we will be having a Roman theme.
Participation in Fundraising is an expectation of membership. Without past fundraising we would have no equipment now, without fundraising now we will have no equipment in the future. It is that simple. Continue reading “RRC Quiz Night 15th March”
