Tiger Time Trial 2013 – Not as Endangered as You Thought

Hi everyone,
I have received a complaint that some rowers were not informed of this year’s TT cutoff date.
To be fair on all rowers wishing to compete, I’m reopening the TT and I encourage you to take this opportunity to enter a time in one or more of the TT classes.
You have until 12:00pm this Sunday by which time entries must be sent by txt to me on 0417114925 incl the names of crew, cox and timekeeper (see below).  Any entry must be in accordance with the following requirements.  No further extensions will be made.
Classes/courses open are M or F:

  • tub four: running start from club – island anticlockwise – turn downstream with marshal’s ok (marshal stands on north bank) – return
  • tub pair and tub single: running start from club – up thru Swan Street until boat clears the top of the 1st landing upstream of Swan St (where marshal stands) – turn with marshal’s ok – down middle arch Swan St – return

Note the new point of turning for tub pair/tub single and the new requirement for a safety marshal on the bank to look for clear water to turn, and to keep time.  Cox keeping time is not permitted.  Time adjustments can be made where the turn at Swan St or out of the island is unsafe due to river traffic, no other adjustments.
Anyone submitting time/s within these rules will have them counted for this season’s points and the fastest time in each class will win.
Don’t forget to buy tix to Presentation Night to find out who’s won.
Any times after the above deadline, I will happily count them towards next season.  In fact, why not get out there before May 2014 and get some times on the board for next season too.
Happy tub-boat time trialling Tiger-style. Don’t you just love it.
