RRC Foundation Day 17 June 1863
All members, past and present, and other interested people are invited to celebrate the 150 Foundation Day of Richmond Rowing Club on Monday night 17 June 2013, at Young and Jackson’s Hotel, Chloe’s bar.
Head upstairs to Chloe’s bar for a relaxed celebration. On offer are micro brewed beers, Australian wines, unique cocktails and tasty tapas menu available.
In the 1800’s and early last century the Richmond Rowing Club would hold its meeting in hotels around the city area. The newspaper item here shows the 1914 annual meeting being promoted in the daily newspaper. The scanning process has made some words illegible. But you can see that the club had a definite interest in mixing rowing with drinking!

The annual meeting of the Richmond Rowing Club was held at Young and Jackson’s on Saturday evening last. Mr. Cotter. N.l.A., presided over an excellent attendance.
