The Australian Henley Regatta has been conducted by the Melbourne Amateur Regatta Association on the Yarra since 1904. Their aim was to conduct a regatta on the same line as the world-renowned Henley Royal Regatta.
Next Saturday 22nd February, marks this year’s event and some of our very own Richmond rowers will be competing. To celebrate the event and to enjoy the spirit of rowing in the city of Melbourne RRC will be gathering on the banks of the Yarra for a picnic.
The plan is to meet at the clubhouse at midday and head along the bank to find a spot near the Henley staging (near Swan Street bridge) with a view of the racing and a place to relax. All friends and family are welcome, just bring something along for the picnic, if you can sign up using the link below and indicate what you might bring it will help us have an idea of numbers and hopefully prevent a totally biased catering situation.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone on the day. Contact me at [email protected] for any further information (or as I’m rowing on the day so can’t guarantee I won’t be on the water at midday, Barry, [email protected] should be able to help).
