Former members Natalie (Nat) Frazer and Jarrad Rouhan tied the knot Saturday and ventured down to have their photo’s taken in amongst the boats at the club.
Natalie joined Richmond as a beginner and soon became a pivotal part of the women’s squad that went on to claim numerous state championships.
Jarrod joined the club from Wendouree Ballarat when he moved to Melbourne for work and went on to win a State Championship in the men’s pair and a bronze medal at the National Championships in the coxed four in a RMIT / Richmond composite crew.
Congratulations to the both of you and we wish you all the best for the future.
RRC Men's eight post season best time trial
The men’s eight have managed to better their previous best time by 2 seconds to record a season best time of 31min 15sec for the fourth and final time trial last Sunday.
The results of the time trial demonstrates the depth in the current men’s squad with the crew managing the better their previous best despite having a number of the HOTY crew out of the boat due to Christmas commitments.
The time trial also was the last event for gun cox Elaine Arrum who returns to Perth this week having spent the past five months coxing for the men’s squad. Elaine has dramatically improved her coxing during her time at Richmond and her silky skills on the strings and her sense of humour will be missed by all the boys.
In another update, the Club Championship points (Mal Scott) is hotting up with five men in the current squad all within two points of each other on top of the leaders board. This should make for some interesting racing in the New Year and there will no doubt be some intense rivalry heading into the second half of the season.

Goat pale faces the axe for a head of steam
A credible source has informed me that Richmond brewer Mountain Goat is axing Pale Ale from it range of beers in the coming months and replacing it with a Steam Ale.
The last batch of Pale Ale, the Goat’s second oldest brew, is in the process of being brewed and will hit the stores in August. There will be limited stock available so the connoisseurs amongst us will do well to visit the local to snap up what soon will be a collectors item.
