As many of you may be aware our Head of Rowing, Rochelle Stokes, has been away from the club over the last couple of months due to other understandable priorities. Unfortunately she is unable to commit the time required for the demanding role of overseeing the rowing program at the club and has resigned this role for the season. As a committee we would like to sincerely thank her for the immense amount of work she did in the role for the whole of last year and in the preparation for this season.
As we now look forward to the sprint season in discussion with both the coaching group and the committee we have taken the decision to fill the role and I am very pleased to announce that Tim Evans will be stepping into the position for the remainder of the season. Many of you will know Tim as the head coach of the men’s squad this season, but along with this he is a life member of the club due to his years of contribution and has the honour of a boat named after him in the shed.
We want to thank Tim for volunteering to take this role and ask everyone to support him as we move into the very busy part of the season with the Yarra based head races in the next few weeks and then the sprint season following on straight after.
